a friend of a friend has set up a wheat and dairy free website that I just took a look at and looks interesting, some helpful links and advice. www.wheatanddairyfree.com (http://www.wheatanddairyfree.com) I think it is commercially based but none the less quite helpful. Lots of infinity products which I can get locally and are great.

I have only had a quick look as it is my bedtime really. I don't agree with this statement
"Lactose intolerance is a common allergic reaction."
Milk or dairy allergy is an allergic reaction to the milk proteins. An allergy is the body reacting to what it thinks is something not wanted - very simple terms here.
Lactose intolerance is not an allergic reaction it is a problem in the small intestine - where either not enough or no lactase enzyme is produced. This means the lactose (milk sugar) is not broken down into smaller units which can then be absorbed by the gut. The lactose then causes nasty symtoms until it has passed through the system. In my case feeling sick for hours usually most of the night and a trip to the loo eventually, oh and gas of course :( . There is nothing one can do when one has overdosed on lactose but wait for it to go through the system.
sorry haven't visited the site but they need to be carefull if they are mis wording stuff like that. allergy and intolerance hugely different and it's the misinformation that causes problems for sufferers and the general public.
we're often written off as cranks to start with without perpetuating the misunderstandings.

If I thought that someone had the cheek to write me off as a crank I would be very upset!:pound:
