As it is soon going to be christmas and many people enjoy a few treats at this time of year i thought i would compile a list of dairy free cololates for you all.

A Lot of Chocolate (http://www.alotofchocolate.co.uk/products/category.php?_CatId=3) is an online store with a wide range of Dairy free chocolates. They also also have Gluten, Soya, Wheat free and vegan chocolates.

Chocolate Trading Co (http://www.chocolatetradingco.com/browsecategory.asp?ID=34) has a selection of Booja Booja truffles.

Plamil Foods (http://www.plamilfoods.co.uk/chocolate2.htm) do a range of organic chocolates which are Dairy and Soya free.

Wheat and Dairyfree (http://www.wheatanddairyfree.com/wheatanddairyfreechristmas.htm) has a wide range of christmas treats including mince pies.

Hotel Chocolat (http://www.hotelchocolat.co.uk/cx1/src/ambergreengoogleads/category-For-Vegans-HCOVEGAN.htm) has some nice vegan chocolates. You may want to check before ordering as some of these are listed for vegen and some are listed as vegetarian.

D & D Chocolates (http://www.d-dchocolates.com/index.html) do a range of Christmas chocolates which are Dairy and Gluten free.

If anyone know of any that i have missed, let me know and i will add them to the list.

My mum has said I can order some chocolates for the festive season as she doesn't want me to miss out- inevitably large boxes of chocolates will be bought and seeing 7 others happily tuck into them isn't going to be that fun, so am allowed to go buy some. I bought a Santa from Tescos, but will let you know what else I get :eat:

I chose to order chocolates from A lot of chocolate, primarily due to the selection and prices!!
2 packs of truffles and a plastic snowman full of chocolate buttons (gimmick I know, but its Christmas!!) are hopefully making their way to my home very shortly!! Will let you know how they taste....

Tesco organic plain chocolate is dairy free and not bitter BUT I can't remember if it contains soya.

I see that the Frys chocolate cream bar contains soya lecithin :( Oh no so do the Whizzers chocolate beans.

Poor Eden - no chocolate is not good.

My husband bought me the most delicious dairy free chocolates I've tasted!:eat:

He got them in Waitrose and they are 'handmade vegan chocolates' made by Linden Lady Chocolates. They even look like a box of chocs and have several different flavours in. They are also labelled as gluten free too. 10 out of 10.

I also got some choclate covered ginger from Waitrose and a box of Booja Booja truffles from a good friend. What a great Christmas I had.

Tesco Finest plain chocolate with orange is dairy-free (but contains soya). The 100g bar is about 90p and tastes really nice.

Hi i know this is old topic but is cocoa butter ok for us..??? I think its called that cos you see it in most choccies......I like the mint chocolates from Marks n Spencers(they ok, no dairy and its plain chocolate)...I used to love those chocolate fry creams, but they now may contain milk chocolate..:(

According to Macs dietitian and galact. support group Fry's chocolate cream bars are made on line which also makes milk choc bars. But they tell us that the risk of cross contamination is virtually none. Apparently one of the bosses at Fry's had a child who was diagnoised with galactosaemia and then panicked about the milk content. I dont know anything about cocoa butter. surely its made from cocoa beans and that should make it better for us? I could get bombarded with answers now. I have said in the past that i aint very knowledgeable about food!!!!

cocoa butter is the creamy stuff around the cocoa bean so none dairy.

like has been said though be aware of cross contamination.
the actual advantage is that cocoa butter doesn't have the caffeine etc in it. if only they'd make a white choc bar using it and no milk!!!! i wish

Can someone tell me what milk fat is please?
I was looking at those new chocs ''orange dark chocolate fingers', and noticed they had milk fat in them.....I never bought them incase i was ill:(
Every thing else seemed ok apart from that....

I searched Google for a an answer to your question. I found a few sites that wanted to tell me all about the chemistry :lol2: I then found a New Zealand firm that make all kinds of dairy powders etc and "milk fat or butter". In other words it is butter in disguise. That would be on my list of chocs not to eat then.

i'd go along with that. not worth the risk. strange way of saying butter!!!
