I have just been to my local Tesco and bought some Pure (the yellow one). I only wanted a couple but then I spotted the price label had the dreaded word "discontinued", so I bought five!

I will have to keep an eye on this and see if this means that my Tesco have decided to stop stocking this Pure. There wasn't a label on the Pure with soya. I will be making a comment at the complaints desk once things are back to normal. (People are still taking back their unwanted pressies).

My local Tesco stopped selling the yellow one ages ago. I hope they carry on selling the green!

I think the only place that sells Pure round here is Waitrose. And possibly the local health food shop. The nearest Tescos and Sainsburys are both crap for free from.

I only use the yellow one, so I really hope they don't stop selling it. Will not be impressed if they do.

I always use the green one (I think it's the cheapest!) and have had no problems getting it in Sainsburys and Asda. I use it for cooking cakes as well.

I have used the green one in the past but I am trying not to replace too many dairy things with soya alternatives. I don't want to end up with soya intolerance too :(

I'll be annoyed if they stop doing yellow pure at tesco as mike stocks up for me when he goes there, otherwise they always have plenty at Asda or its really expensive health food shop SUMA stuff. No soya for me, becuase it gave me eosionphilia when in my inhaler I have decided to steer clear of it altogehter although hoping gastro at Guys will offer more clues.

Ok, this may really sound strange, but i always bought the green tub since i went Dairy free, as my local asda only sells the green tub, is there a difference in the taste, etc between the colourerd tub , sorry im new to this and do sometimes need things explained to me!!!! So i do apoligise for sounding stupid.

They tasted the same to me. I have a number of food intolerances and I have no wish to add soya to my list. I have read somewhere that replacing all of my dairy products with soya could lead to an intolerance to soya at some point.

I'm with Copper on this, I try to avoid replacing everything with soya, and thats why I use the sunflower oil based one instead.

This may help you with the differences.

I much prefer the sunflower one and so does my daughter whos the milk intolerant one (shes now soya intolerant too so have no choice now anyway) The whole family are now converted to pure sunflower spread and dont buy butter at all, but I must say that the soya / organic ones I really didnt like when I first tried.

The Bicester Tesco stopped selling the yellow one just before Christmas, it too had a label saying DISCONTINUED. I will check the Tesco in Buckingham as soon as I can get there.

I too hope that it is still available as I prefer not to use too many soya products, I don't want the children to develop an allergy to soya as well.

The Oxford Sainsbury (I don't rate very highly except that it has started selling the Rich Chocolate Swedish Glace iced desert) only sells it's own brand freefrom spread which doesn't say it contains soya but it also doesn't say free from soya..... so I don't know which it is.

A couple of years ago there was a big hoo-har about Sainsburys own spread, they said that it didn't contain soya yet people who had strong reactions to soya were having problems with it. Again, Sainsburys wouldn't admit responsibility but I think they eventually backed down and said that maybe it did have soya in. I don't know if they have changed the recipe since then to ensure that the soya is out, it might be worth contacting them but I don't know if you would get a proper answer. Surely under the new labelling regulations they should be including soya in the ingredients list if it is used in the recipe.
