My chemist suggested that I should take Lactobacilli in order to help my intestinal flora.
This is what I have done in the past 2 mornings and I have bloated as never before.
Does anybody have any idea why? Is this a temporary reaction?
I feel that I will stop taking Lactobacilli...
Thanks for your help
Victoria
in theory the reason you have a bad reaction and feel bloated is that you lack the bacteria to digest the milk, so taking the lacto should help this matter.
unless you are reacting to something else aswell..... could be something else in the tablet that doesn't agree with you.
i've never tried them but think a couple of others have, maybe they can let ou know from their experience?

I have been taking lactobacilli for 1 week and my life has dramatically changed for the best.
After the first 3 days of abnormal bloating (which, I read somewhere, is the normal reaction) I am doing really well. Of course I have to be careful, but now and then I can take a little bit of low lactose milk and a little bit of parmesan (which, for me, it is difficult to do without when having pasta!).
Thanks to all of you who gave me advise up to now.

Things are looking up Victoria, I hope you continue to feel better.
excellent news, feel free to keep us informed and ask anything else.:)
That's really good news
Hope things continue to improve for you.
Victoria - have you tried Parmazano (available from veganstore and often supermarkets) as a parmesan substitute? I find its pretty good, but then again its been so long since I had 'proper' parmesan that I may just have forgotten what it tastes like...

Thank you Nic for suggesting Parmezano...the only problem is that I can not find it in Italy...
Victoria
Victoria - the people at veganstore.co.uk are very nice, they *might* send it to you. Though you'd probably want to order some other things as well, to make it worth the cost of the postage.
Nic
time to set up a mailing service from this site. !!
parmezano would prob get via the post ok... shipping rate?
can oblige if you really want to try.:)

Setting up an online store would be easy, running it would be the hard part

You could always train Matt up to do it?!
Good thinking Claire.
I think Matt would make a great shopkeeper!!! What do you say Matt?
Lan. :p:p:p
trouble is that most of our stuff is chilled so not suitable.
so what's my cut for the other stuff?
happily post off stuff that is non perishable, biscuits and parmezano etc. just call me dell boy!:lol2:
I've already tried it and gave it up as a bad job. The supermarkets could sell it for cheaper than I could buy it, then they stop stocking the stuff! Postage costs make it fairly unviable too - liquid stuff is too heavy and chocolate is susceptable to spoiling with temperature changes. I never got as far as a proper internet shop which might have made more business and I never ventured into an e-bay shop - maybe I should have. I did a roaring trade in easter eggs though.
Internet shop would be more useful I think.
As then things can be bought in bulk reducing costs.

I get enough e-mails asking about buying products from here anyway :)
Given the number of his the site gets then an online store may do well. I just don't have the time to or enough interest to runn one.
i'm lazy and wouldn't want the responsibilty what with that and the lack of enthusiam due to mental stuff.!!:(
