christmas advents(dairy free)

:( hi all,

have heard that kinnerton are doing a dairy free advent calender for kids, and the big kids in all of us,have checked out our local, tesco's, sainsburys and co-op and received blank looks like i'm some sort of idiot!

can anyone help out on this one as i want to get a head start this year.

I know that Kinnerton did some dairy free/nut free easter eggs and have started to produce a free from chocolate bar so I wouldn't be suprised if they are doing advent calendars. I'll do a bit of digging!

I e-mailed customer services at Kinnerton, they do not know as yet about their advent calendars but told me to contact them again towards the end of October.

If you send them your address they will send a list of Sainsbury's stores that stock 'The Careful Chocolate Company' dairy free, nut free, egg free chocolate bars. Alternatively you can buy it direct from their web site but it costs £29.99 for a case of 24 x 100g bars (including postage).

If you're really cheeky and write to Kinnerton they might send you a free sample of their free from chocolate.

Maybe we should all bombard Kinnerton with requests for a dairy free advent calendar and they might actually produce one for us.

thanks once again pam, i did find the kinnerton site but could not find it very easy to get round and no place for a search! i also e-mailed them over two weeks ago and still have not received a reply? will be looking out for any info in october now

Pam if you can e-mail me their details then I will chase them up, as I have to admit a dairy free advent calender sounds great.

Bombarding them would be a good idea as they will be able to see, that there is definitely an urgent need for them.

;) still not had a reply from kinneton! so much for customer relations has anyone had any further info as all the big supermarkets have shelves full of ordinary advent calenders?
to date have sent seven e-mails to kinnerton,they must be going somewhere?

Larger Sainsbury's stores are probably your best bet. They had their Kinnerton dairy free Easter Eggs on a shelf of their own with all the other other Eggs and not in the free from section. The eggs were available at all three stores near me, the Savacentre, Supacentre and small branch. Hopefully, advents will be as widely available.

Re- Dairy free advent calenders.

received a letter from Kinnerton this morning 18/10/03.
they are once again hand making the advent calenders if you want one you need to send a letter to Gillian Philpot stating how many and if for a boy or girl they cost £5.00 each (cheques made payable to Anaphylaxis Campaign) kinnerton make no money from making these calenders. They also stated in the letter that the new chocolate bar is now available at Waitrose and Tesco, Sainsbury have had very low sales records for this product so it might not be available for much longer, we need to spread the word.

I think £5 is a bit steep but if it helps the anaphylaxis campaign I suppose it is at least a worthy cause. I'm sure if more people were aware that these products existed sales would be higher but I still haven't seen the Kinnerton chocolate at either Sainsbury's or Waitrose on their free from aisles.

So glad to hear about dairy free advent calenders, as am a big kid at 26. Loooking forward to the treat every day, especially as I am on a fat free diet as well.

£5.00 is not alot to pay when you think our intolerances/allergies can't kill us.

I will be buying one and am at present contacting the company for information. After 8 years I feel I deserve the treat.

If any one is having problems getting the Kinnerton luxury plain chocolate try ringing Sainsburys you can either ring your local store or ring head office on either of the two numbers on 0800 636262 or 020 7965 7306 and quote the department commodity number which is 260 059 it should be in the wellbeing isle. we rang all the sainsburys stores near us and they said they didn,t stock it but they did, they told us they didn,t have any easter eggs but on they way out of the store we saw them stacked high, half of the time the staff haven,t got a clue. Also if you need to contact Gillian Phillpot at Kinnerton she,s at the London office not Norfolk.

We've made our own advent calendar for our little girl, so she can have one the same as her brothers. We bought a normal chocolate one, emptied out the inner tray, refilled it with melted Green & Blacks and put the tray back in the box. Daddy and the boys found it a real chore to empty the old one out :D but everyone is happy now.
