This weekend we stayed at the Crown Hotel in Wells next the sea. I emailed them in advance to let them know of my worst intolerences just saying that milk, soya and gluten make me ill. They let me know the kitchen would do something specially and just to ask.

I didnt need to ask the waitress came out with a special menu they put together just for me and they even managed to sort out some pudding choices. It felt so great that I had a choice and there was not a big hoo ha.

It was also a good winter break deal (£120 dinner bed and breakfast per night for the two of us ) and a comfortable nicely done up old hotel in a great location.

On Sunday we had lunch in the George in Cley where I asked for veggies with no butter on them. They said it was impossible as they were pre tossed in butter...What a contrast...They also gave me that you wierdo look which I hate so much. But I guess I have to say at least I could get into the place which I wouldnt be able to do most of the time if I was in a wheelchair.

Thumbs up to the Crown then.
Thumbs down to the George.

It is nice when someone goes that extra mile to make your visit special.

At least the hotel made the effort.
Did you enjoy the break??

We had a lovely time, best of all not being woken up by the soon to be 8 year old at 6.30am and then every half hour after that until we give in. Very cold but we were well prepared and had a lovely long walk under the blue skies and sunshine...All that vitamin D! Great sitting in the hotel bar and then stumbling upstairs to bed and not going out in the cold I even managed a vodka without my nose going ballistic.
