In response to customer demand Buxton Foods is launching a delicious new product in the Peter Rabbit™ Organics range: Mini Chocolate Bar. These cute 25g Bars are ideal for packed lunches, picnics, journeys or just a treat at any time of day.
Unlike normal chocolate, the Mini Chocolate Bar is sucrose-free and dairy-free as well as organic. The chocolate is sweetened with fructose instead of sucrose, and is suitable for people who cannot tolerate milk, and also some children within the Autistic spectrum. The Bars also contain extra cocoa butter to give them a really smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
The Mini Bars were developed by popular request following the launch of the larger 95g Peter Rabbit™ Organics Chocolate Bars for Sharing. Whilst the Sharing Bars proved popular customers wanted a smaller ‘snack’ version which they could eat all at once. The Mini Chocolate Bars provide a really indulgent treat in the Peter Rabbit™ Organics range, which currently comprises wholesome mealtime options such as breakfast cereals, pasta and sauces, nutritious cereal bars, vegetable crisps and cookies. None of the products has any added sugar or salt.
These bars will be ready for a Tesco launch on 12th March.

Eden didn't like the big bar AT ALL and I thought it has too bitter, esp. if you take into consideration that it's for kids!!! But now that she has a nut allergy, it's out of the question anyway as I emailed BUXTON and they said it MAY CONTAIN NUTS.
Personally, I think KINNERTON's choc. (mail order only) is much better for children as it's not bitter at all but very smooth...and Eden seems to agree as she loves it!
Vanessa.

From what it says the little ones aren't coming out for another couple of weeks but I assume the big ones are already out there - not seen those either. I shall keep looking though.

I have not seen these in either of the Tescos that I haunt weekly.
http://www.buxtonfoods.com/rabbit/index.htm
go there and email your details and they say they'll email you the details of the local stores that stock it.
worth a go.
Jenna, you can't say chocolate and calories in the same sentence, it only makes you feel guilty.
I've just had a look on the Buxton Foods site but it doesn't mention calories. I didn't realise that they were the company who did Stamp Collection products. It says that the Peter Rabbit range is now available in Boots, Sainsburys, Superdrug, Tesco and a few others but I've not seen any yet.

Ok Matt I emailed them and they replied within the hour. This is the reply:-
"We do two brands of dairy-free chocolate, the Stamp Collection 95g bars, Plain & Orange, and Peter Rabbit Organics Plain & Orange 95g bars. Unfortunately these are not sold in the supermarkets at the moment, but they are available via mailorder from www.wheatanddairyfree.com (http://www.wheatanddairyfree.com) . We have also just launched a Peter Rabbit Organics mini chocolate bar, which is avaible in the Tesco Extra stores, however it is always best to check with your nearest store to check they have it in stock.
If you have a good local health food store you can always ask them to stock the chocolate, if they contact us we can give them the names of the wholesalers whom they can buy it through.
I do hope this helps, if you would like any further information please do get in contact."
Hmm I have just been to my Tesco extra and no sign of this chocolate. Ordering through a health food shop would mean two trips into Poole - I think not.
so sue me they said they would!!!! can't be blamed if they lied. next time you go to poole.... or order online and let the postman take the strain.:)
I went to my local Tesco gigantic last night and couldn't find any. I looked in the free from stuff and the organic chocolate but none to be seen. I want some! I wish Sweet William would have more stuff more widely available in the uk too. They have just introduced a new chocolate spread to their range according to their website.
Just had a look on the wheat and dairy free site mentionned in Copper's e-mail but could only find Stamp Collection stuff, no peter rabbit choc. I've never even found stamp collection in tesco but have seen it in sainsburys.
Someone gave me a really easy dairy free chocolate spread recipe if anyones interested?
Pam, Tescos were selling Stamp Collection bunnys at about half price last week, sorry I forgot to mention it. They only seem to appear at Christmas and Easter, when they make the shaped chocolate.
I don't get to Tesco very often and I was probably looking in the wrong place. Were they with the easter stuff or with the organic/free from chocolate?
I found the chocolate bunnies with the Easter eggs. Those and the Kinnerton Adult eggs, were both half price, so I got one of each :) I'd guess they've all gone now though.

For anyone that lives anywhere near Peterborough ... Peter Rabbit choc bars are available in the huge Tesco store at Hampton! Found them in the baby food section with goodies organic range of crisps, biscuits etc. And more good news ... they are also on offer at 58p each (instead of 90 something i think). Haven't tried them yet but stocked up!
A great alternative to whizzers for when I give friends substitute items when they are making up Freya a party bag! :)

Hi Pam,
I went to the Tesco at Batley last week and they have the small Peter Rabbit bars, they are in the baby food aisle, they are 58p each and are only small. I bought a few for Zac. The tesco website says that they are on offer at 58p and that the normal price is 98p! I'd stick with the G&B or the Tesco Organic.

I used to like the Tesco organic plain bar but now it is in a cardbaord box (used to be a paper wrapper) it tastes very bitter, they must have changed the recipe :(
finally tried some of that swiss style choc from waitrose yesterday. very nice. will have to get more ...but this bar will last a while waiting to check that no bad IBS style reactions:o
Thanks Lou, why isn't it with the other organic stuff? I never have reason to go near the baby food. Have they opened the new upstairs at Batley yet? They only had the clothes to move out of the temporary extension when I went the other week.
