Basic chocolate sponge cake and then make a frosting- Supercook do a dairy free chocolate in a packet that you stick in the microwave and then it pours out to make a glossy surface. Not fudge icing I'm afraid- I don't know how to make a gooey topping sorry.
I can provide details for a basic sponge cake if you want?

Just put this on the other thread, but I make chocolate fudge type stuff for my cakes.

Melt 100g dark chocolate (Tesco organic - 79p), mix in 2 tbsp soya milk then stir in as much icing sugar as you can. Makes enough to fill and coat a 6-7" sandwich cake.

Very sweet and the topping tend to set a bit but the inside usually stays soft. Perhaps adding pure spread or oil to the melted chocolate instead of soya milk might make it set a little less but icing sugar tends to set anyway when it has been out for a while.

I like the fudge icing that sets on the top a little, as then it means you get slightly less messy!!
I want chocolate cake now :(

Yum Yum Pam, Thanks for that. My son might get a nice birthday cake after all, planning a nice chocolate fudge cake, in the shape of a teddy bear.
