View Full Version : back in the land of the living...
The end is nearly in sight for hte girls with chickenpox, and the eldest will DEFINITELY be back at school on Monday...obviously our son has now come down with the dreaded pox and so we have YET ANOTHER WEEK IN ISOLATION AAARRRGGGH!!!
BUT...wanted to share today's absolutely amazing news (mainly because you're probably the only lot who would appreciate the importance of this statement)...Cate had a proper (albeit small) formed POO!!!! IT is officially the first in her life! We've now done pretty much 6 weeks on dairy, soya, wheat and egg free and it does seem to be working..sh even seemed quite chirpy despite being scabby!!!

Glad to hear things are looking up Ruth, have you got the RAST results back yet? Your post has made me wonder whether my little one, Zachary has more allergy/intolerances than we think as he too has never done a "formed poo" although his weight etc. is fine and he is thriving. I just thought it was because of the soya, it is a bean after all. But it seems I may be wrong?

Great poo news!;)
Lou C...it could be more allergies or it could be the soya...the reason that they kept excluding more and more out ot Cate's diet was that every 2/3 weeks we'd show up at the paeds clinic to find out that she had either lost weight or remained static...when she came off dairy and soya she really started to thrive after becoming incredibly limp...she's 14 months now and in terms of physical development is about 9 months (thankfully that was te only thing affected). Now she's off everything else she is back on the weight charts and in 6-9month clothes!!!
It's worth seeing about the soya thing as there are some children who are allergic to soya if they are also allergic to milk

My undiagnosed lactose intolerance as a baby (well it was 1954) meant that apart from being a sickly child, I was growing but my growth was 3 years behind. I did catch up eventually, so Cate will be ok. Even my teeth were behind!!!
I just thought you might need to know and be reassured that Cate will be ok.

My growth was behind too, 1968!
one in five people who are lactose intolerant are also soya intolerant apparantly.
