Sorry me again:p
We are seeing dietican tomorrow, I am not happy not knowing exactly what it is Jem is allergic/intolerant to, can I have test done? ive heard of simple blood tests being done to find out what they are allergic to, im fed up of not knowing.

She's a real cutey!! Good luck, I'm pleased you're getting some tests done. I know someone that is still waiting and her girl is nearly 4!!

Hi, Thanks, I just hope they agree to do some tests or I might look into going private.

I'd have thought a dietican would be more likely to do the blood tests than a GP. I think NHS blood tests will only show up allergies though....According to the consultant dietican that dealt with me, the only way to test for lactose intolerance is re-introduction, after a period without.

The NHS are notoriously unhelpful with food allergies or intolerances. These links might help with some initial idea of what to ask them about:

THe paediatrician ordered loads of tests for Cate..although they were all inconclusive. That's when they started excluding all the food from her diet...they don't actually know for definite what is wrong with her or if it's even allergies...it seems in this case they just work by trial and error. They might offer RAST but these are notoriously unreliable, and the skin pricks would be too traumatic for someone so young...expect a long long process!
We'll be thinking of you tomorrow, we're off to see our dietician as well! Am hoping for a bit of weight gain and to see whether Cate can get a different milk...she's now drinking about 32oz a day (including a NIGHT FEED AAARRRGGGH!)
