View Full Version : Hula Hoops
Hi all.
HULA HOOPS - NOW CONTAIN DAIRY
I knew about the other flavours but have always enjoyed the salt and vinegar and plain flavours. The salt & vinegar ones now contain lactose and the plain ones are produced on a line where milk is used.
Thought I would warn you as have no mention on the front of packs, ate a pack of salt and vinegar as considered them safe and now awaiting first symptoms to start.
Check out the small print on the allergy advice part on back.

Inconsiderate so and so's. Fortunately we are willing to risk the "produced on a line handling milk" part now as we don't have any major allergy issues otherwise my daughter would be really upset.

I eat McCoys salt & vinegar crisps. They are really nice and no lactose.

I had a pack of plain hula hoops a few weeks ago - I thought they were disgusting! Strange as I used to really like them. I've found something much better - McCoy's Specials Thai Sweet Chicken crisps. They are absolutely gorgeous and the allergy box just says 'SOYA'. Only found them in our works canteen but I'm addicted!

I expect this is a silly question Fozzybear but do they contain onion or garlic powder? - sounds like they will.

That might be to do with the new oil they're cooked with. I had a pack of hula hoops earlier today, will let you know how I get on!!

I dont eat hula hoops because they have MSG which I avoid if I can, except for the occasional Chinese!!
Hi all,
No probs guys. I just wanted to make sure no-one else had any problems. Have had a few mild stomach cramps today, but could be that I'm expecting a reaction.
Oh well....

Not sure, will try and remember to have a look when I get a pack next.
There's something unsettling my stomach at the moment, but that could be due to a number of things: the crisps (although the reaction is a bit early for them), the painkillers, or something in the painkillers....

Thers not really that many flavours we can have that got no lactose or milk stuff in.....I usually tend to stick to the ready salted crisps....
isn't that the truth. i really fancied a bag of steak flavour the other day... then i read th ingredients. quite honestly i think i prefer the idea of ready salted. ingredients: potatoes salt oil
when the ingredients list goes most of the way down th packet it makes you wonder.....:o

I find that when foods have long lists of E numbers that is a good sign for me - quite a worry really.

PRINGLES ORIGINAL are still dairy- and gluten-free. Try the snack pack!

Me too. Other people find it quite funny when I look at a list of ingredients and think they're great because they're full of chemicals!

Hi am a new member but could not resist posting hope no one minds, as well as hulo hoops changing I have found out to my cost that walklers have changed the receipes fo some of there others flavours My son who is Dairy intolerant used to be able to have prawn cocktail and chicken Walkers when he was little as they were Dairy free but the receipe has changed :headbang:
post away, the more the merrier.
it's why i stick to ready salted... though i've seen some of those with loads of additives... how complicated does it need to be? potatoes, oil, salt.:o

At least if you switch between ready salted brands you get slightly different tastes.
